Stay cool (Avery Elle)

Hi there!

I have one very coooool card to share with you today!

stay cool (Avery Elle)

These critters crack me up! Aren't they hilarious? They are from the new Avery Elle Stay Cool stamp set. I stamped, die-cut and colored the bear, the bunny, the speech bubble and a slew of stars. Then, I grabbed a sheet of patterned paper from The Spring Collection paper pack and die-cut into it using the Ray backdrop die. It has that gradient effect that makes it so fun!

I arranged the elements on top of the sunset paper, and mounted all of that with foam squares onto a card-sized white layer.

To finish off, I added a few accents with a white gel pen. It came together so quickly and easily but it packs a cool punch because of all of the happy color!

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

sunshine and rainbows (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

Hi there!

It's the day before the new Lawn Fawn release hits the stores! Today, the team is showing off one last set, All The Clouds.

sunshine and rainbows (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

I used the images to build an all-over pattern for my card. I did a tiny bit of masking to get the sun to peek from behind the clouds, but apart from that it was all just coloring and doodling. I used a black pen to add little stripes and plaid to clouds, as well as a dot pattern for the inside of the rainbows. I used a white gel pen to add dots to the background and little triangles to a few clouds. It was fun! I could totally see this on a baby's blanket. I really love the non-traditional colors I used on the rainbows.

I added the sentiment onto a skinny strip of cardstock and called it done! I hope you like it.

Starry night (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

Hi there!

We're almost to the end of Lawn Fawn's inspiration and release week, which means in 2 more sleeps you'll be able to purchase everything you've been eyeing! Today, we're showing off the Starry Sky Stencil:

starry night (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

My original plan was to use a white embossing paste with the stencil, but it went bad? It was all gloopy and unspreadable. I didn't even know that would happen... after like 8 years. haha. So, I used clear embossing paste instead and then went over the entire card-front with a dry-brush of white paint. I dragged my paintbrush in a circular motion around the top part of the card, trying not to get too many streak marks on the card itself. I was a bit heavy-handed in some spots, but I like how it turned out!

I added my images, from Smooth Sailing, and the school of fish below from Mermaid For You. I placed the sentiment into a Fancy Wavy Banner, and placed clouds to note the separation between water and sky.

I hope you like it!

Build-a-castle (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

Hi there!

Welcome back to another day of Lawn Fawn's inspiration and release week! Today, we're taking a first look at Build-A-Castle dies, and a Tiny Fairy Tale stamp set.

I die-cut the castle and used the new Brick Stencil to give it a tone-on-tone brick effect. I then placed the tiny princess at the top of a tower, and a little knight, professing his love, at the foot of the castle. A little fairy (from Unicorn Picnic) is flying overhead.

I placed the entire scene onto a Puffy Cloud Backdrop die layer. I also used a new starry night stencil that you'll see more of soon! The sentiment brings it all together.

crazy antics (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

Hi there!

Welcome to another day of this month's Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week! Today, we're showing off Crazy Antics, a set that features a mouse picnic, and adds in a bunch of little ant friends.

I decided to let the ants go wild:

I stamped and colored all of the ants and food to build my scene, and set it against a cloudy-day backdrop. I cut 2 layers of rolling hills, one in a slighty darker color to give the scene some depth.

Ocean Shell-fie (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

Hi there!

Welcome to another day of Lawn Fawn's inspiration and new release week! Today, we're showing off Ocean Shell-fie, a super cute underwater set.

Ocean Shell-fie (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

I set the camera onto a rock and had all of the sea creatures pose in front of it, including the school of fish from Mermaid For You! The sentiment also borrowed "waving hello" from that set, and it mixed in perfectly with the new Ocean Shell-fie!

Say cheese! (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

Hi there!

Welcome back to another day of Lawn Fawn's inspiration and release week. Today is our showcase of the Magic Iris Camera Add-On:

say cheese! (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

I made a camera-shaped card, in a vintage style. This was so fun to put together! I opted to make the polaroid pop out, using the Let's Toast Pull Tab Add-On, instead of the Magic Iris function, but I can't wait to try it the other way too.

Et voila! When you pull the tab, this cute polaroid pops out. What a Super Star.

Just a note: if you'd like to make a camera-shaped card instead of adhering the camera onto a regular-shaped card, you'll need to do some trimming of the Let's Toast mechanism. Nothing major, just a little shave here and there to make it work. And, you'll need a few layers of cameras...

say cheese! (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

To make the back layer cut out without the lens circle, I simply rotated it in my cutting machine, cutting a little bit of the edge at the time, without ever running it all the way through. I hope that makes sense!

Camping critters! (Avery Elle new release blog hop)

Hi there!

I'm so excited to have you stop by my blog today, to celebrate the new Avery Elle release! I illustrated 2 sets in the mix, Unicycle, and the one I'm showing off right now - Camping Critters. Strap in, I have 4 cards to share with you!

Camping critters! (Avery Elle new release blog hop)

My first card is a completely 1 layer panel. It took awhile to get the dies to me across the border, so I started playing around with just the stamps. I ink-blended a night sky, and did some masking to build my scene. Everything was colored using copic markers. Only the sentiment was stamped separately and set on top.

For my second card, which is similarly 1 layer for the most part, I wanted to create a daytime look. Only the tent and the sweet bear, but this time, with a little bunny friend, from Santa Bear, and some little butterflies, from Wheelie Great. I added the sentiment as a skinny strip in the middle of the rolling hills, to cut into all of that solid green.

Once I got the dies, I couldn't help but make another couple of cards! This one features another night scene. I hand-cut an oval shape out of green cardstock for the grassy area, making sure to keep the edges jagged so it really looks like grass. Then, I used a blender brush to spread a black-inked sky, keeping the edges lighter and in line with the grassy piece. I added a blue tent, little critters making s'mores and fireflies in the night sky.

This last card is the simplest. I really wanted to feature the raccoon on a card, I love him holding the little lantern! I added the heart-in-speech-bubble image from Wheelie Great, as well as a few mushrooms from Falling For You. The Star Scene die provided the perfect backdrop.

There are more projects to see today! Here is a full list of blog hop participants:

Unicorn party (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

Hi there!

I'm so excited to be kicking off Lawn Fawn's inspiration/release week with a first look at Unicorn Party:

Unicorn party (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

The tiny fairies holding the sprinkle shaker are my favorite! I love how whimsical this new set it! I started out with a sheet of purple Spiffy Speckles patterned paper and a layer of vellum clouds (a new backdrop die!) over it. It's almost impossible to see in the photos, but it mutes the purple and adds another little subtle texture in real life.

Unicorn party (Lawn Fawn inspiration and release week)

I figured out a cloud placement that I liked, and then added the 2 unicorns... on a date? hanging out? who knows. The fairies are helping them out, bringing them all kinds of sweet treats.

I used the label stamp from Ready, Set, Shake for the sentiment at the bottom.

I hope you like it! Check out the Lawn Fawn blog for more amazing projects - click!
