belated anniversary wishes.

My hubs and I celebrated 9 years married on February 22nd - but we hardly said 2 words on the matter that day... the whole family was sick, and he was headed off to Toronto for a few days, so we decided to keep the lovey-dovey-ness for another day...

Now that we're good and celebrated (!), I thought I'd share the card I made for the love of my life.

My favorite thing about this card is the card-base.  I stared out with a white folded card, and stamped the feather image from "lovestruck" all over.  I then stamped the hero arts "envelope pattern" background over the entire thing, and went to work with some distress inks.  To highlight the feathers, I went back in with an aquapainter and fresh snow ink and painted each feather.  It is so soft and pretty!  Just in case you wonder, the sentiment is computer-generated...

Thanks for peeking!

  2. Belated anniversary wishes to you both. I hope all are feeling much improved. Your card is beautiful. It is so nice to see the large grommit. I do love them and hardly ever see them anymore. Bring back the grommit hard, I say! I adore the very romantic color combination too. Very ethereal. Lovely work as always.
