thank ewe! (with Neat and Tangled)

Hi there!

I have a simple and sweet card to share today, on my last day as part of the Neat and Tangled design team:

thank you (for Neat and Tangled)

I used images from Barnyard Buddies and G.O.A.T., from our newest release, and added a little sign to house the sentiment (from Beach Day.)

The sweet blue and white gingham on the card base set the tone for the soft card I wanted to create. I colored the images with copic markers, and filled in the gaps between images with tufts of green grass.

thank you (for Neat and Tangled)

A huge thank you to Danielle for allowing me to part of her Neat and Tangled team for the last 3 years, and to everyone who has brought my designs into their craft rooms - I am so grateful!

Hello Summer! (Neat and Tangled release week)

Hi there!

We're kicking off this month's Neat and Tangled release week with some wishful thinking a new set called Hello Summer. ha. I paired it with the watermelon-eating-hippo from Beach Day:

Summer (Neat and Tangled release week)

I did a soft watercolor wash on the background, in turquoise and yellow, and then also watercolored a sandy base for my hippo and seagull to stand on.

It's hard to tell, but I die-cut the word SUMMER from the same watercolored sheet as the sky layer - it's very soft and pretty in real life!

I added the clouds from the Making Waves die set, and colored their edges with a soft blue-green copic marker (BG11).

moving day (neat and tangled release week)

Hi there!

It's day 3 of this month's Neat and Tangled release week, and we're showing off more goodies designed by Miriam: the Geometric Circles cover plate and stencil.

I used the cover plate with Ride With Me (both available in 2 days!) to create this new home announcement card:

Like I did on Monday's card, I borrowed the little flag from Beach Day, and this time the sun as well.

I ink blended a piece of white cardstock in shades of blue, and then splattered soft brown ink over-top. The coverplate was trimmed down a bit so that it fit the upper portion of the card. I cut a strip of grey cardstock to simulate the road.

The coverplate gives it a bit of a retro vibe, no?

I filled up the wagon with the moving day image, and joined the wagon to the bike with some grey twine.

Don't forget to leave a comment before you go - a winner will be chosen at random from the design team blogs. On Friday, you could be the winner of a 25$ gift card to the Neat and Tangled store. Good luck!

Ride with me (Neat and Tangled release week)

Hi there!

I'm excited to kick off this month's Neat and Tangled release week with a look at my newest set, Ride With Me.

The 2 main critters can be die-cut to fit directly onto the bike, and all of the accessories allow you to create for a few of life's big occasions. I love the teeny hedgehog and bunny the most - they can fit into the bike's basket or be pulled behind in the wagon.

I used the fox to create a little baby announcement card. Isn't it so sweet? I borrowed the flag from Beach Day and stamped the greeting inside (all of the supportive sentiments fit so well in there!) and gave the foxy mama a little bow in her hair to match the baby's purple pram.

I used a sheet of Lawn Fawn's Watercolor Wonder paper for the unexpected pink sky, and added little white gel pen dots to lighten it up. The clouds are from the Making Waves die set, and make the sweet scene even more so.

I hope you like it! Don't forget to comment on all of the design team blogs for a chance to win a 25$ gift card to the NT store at the end of the week. A winner will be chosen at random from all of the blog comments. Danielle is also giving away a Ride With Me stamp set on the blog this morning, so check it out - click!

Beach bums (Neat and Tangled)

Hi there!

I posted these cards to the Neat and Tangled blog a few days ago, but I wanted to share them here too.

Beach bums

They use images from the new set, Beach Day, and feature a trio of critters in beach wear. Let's talk about how cute the hippo looks in her itty-bitty-teeny-weeny-yellow-polka-dot-bikini. And not how I felt trying on bathing suits last week. ack!

Beach bums

I matched pattern paper to her bathing suit bottom, and also to the yellow sun, and made it all pop with a sponged blue sky. The little turtle is my absolute fave.

Beach bums

I realized that I never used all 3 animals on the same card! Time to correct that with a fun shaker card. When I was illustrating the set, I purposefully drew 3 animals that would be colored in grey. Is that cool? Or too monotone? I wanted the bright bathing suits and floaties to stand out instead.

Beach bums

Shake-shake-shake!

Shake what your mama gave you! haha. They look super confidant in their topless attire. I might be throwing on a pair of shorts when we head off to the beach this summer.

Beach Day (Neat and Tangled release week)

Hi there! Welcome back to day 2 of this month's Neat and Tangled release week. In case you missed it, here's a recap so far:

Day 1: Bloom

I'm so thrilled to introduce you to my latest illustrations in Beach Day. We work about 4 months ahead with our stamp production, so we were in the dead of white winter when I drew these. It was a deep longing for all things sandy and sunny, let me tell you!

Beach Day (Neat and Tangled release week)

Beach Day is a 4x6 set and features 3 larger images: the elephant and hippo you see here are 2 of them, and many smaller images like the little seagull.

For this card, I ink blended some mint and yellow inks for a sky-scape and added the clouds from the previously released Making Waves die set.

Beach Day (Neat and Tangled release week)

I gave the sun a smiley face (it's included in the set and you can have the sun with or without a face) and added a sandy hill for the animals to stand on.  I love the elephant shooting water over to his friend! The little duck floatie cracks me up.

Here's a look at the other main beach dude, a more masculine looking rhino:

Beach Day (Neat and Tangled release week)

I did a similar ink blending and sandy stretch on this card, but built a scene with just the rhino and other little images from the set. The little turtle is my fave.

I added little accents to the sand and sky to add more interest to the card. To the sky, I added white gel pen dots, and I used the little cluster of dots image in different browns to add texture to the sand.

I'd love to know what you think of the set! And don't forget to leave comments on all the Design Team blogs to be eligible for a 25$ gift card to the NT store at the end of the week. Also, leave a comment today on the NT blog for a chance to win this set!
