a fall gift... {saturday creations}

The weather has suddenly begun to turn colder... I'm snuggling into a sweater when I walk outside, sipping hot tea in the afternoons, and we'll be baking an apple pie with the pickins' from Thomas' school outing...

I love the fall.  It is all-too-brief a season, but it is so sweet.

What better way to celebrate it, than with a simple handmade gift?  This hand-knitted (by me!) scarf will be going to my Sofia when the weather takes an even cooler turn... and I couldn't help but dress it up with an equally sweet & simple tag.

I used the amazing ink splotch image from Precious Remembrance's "positive thoughts" set, and stamped "enjoy" and the heart image from their calendar set.

I hope you like it!  Thanks for popping by!

every day is a great day {precious remembrance}

Any day is a great day to say "I love you."

Don't you think?

I tend to make a lot of these lovey-dovey cards, because I want the people I love to know that I love them... You know, in case I do things to make them doubt it during the day... hee.

For this card, I stamped a very subtle watermark border down the left of the card: the journaling lines first, and then the months of the year (from the Calendar set.)  Next, I printed the sentiment via the computer, and stamped the calendar month image over-top.  I added the white splotches, heart image, and stitching lines (on the strip of patterned paper) from my favorite Precious Remembrance set: positive thoughts.

I hope you like it!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Precious Remembrance: summer journals

***this is my second post of the day.  Scroll down or click *here* to check out my CSS camping party - complete with a full dessert table!***

I'm back with another Saturday Creations post, this time, highlighting the Precious Remembrance "calendar stamp set."

With the beginning of school in sight, I thought I'd create little journals for the kids to be able to look back at all the fun things we did together this summer.

The construction of the journals is as simple as can be: a card-sized piece of cardstock, with computer papers stacked inside, and a sewn spine.

On the cover, I used the hero arts "cloud background" and stamped "our" and "adventures 2012" from the Precious Remembrance set, and the rest using lawn fawn's "smitty's abcs" set.

Inside, I stamped a few journaling lines for the kids to record their thoughts, and left plenty of white space for pictures.

Sofia drew herself on the hotel bed in Plattsburg, with her new Squinkies set - I love it :)

On the last page, I stamped out "the end" using Clear and Simple Stamps' "alpha duo" set.  And the calendars, from the Precious Remembrance set, so the kids could highlight their special days.

I hope you like my summer adventure journals!  The kids had so much fun filling them out, and I loved seeing what stood out to them... like, who knew that pushing buttons in the hotel elevator was one of the highlights of Thomas' summer?  HA.
