love notes from my gnomie.

Hi friends!

I hope you had a stellar weekend - mine was a whirlwind!  I was in stampy heaven, creating a few card sets by request, and hosting a card class on Sunday afternoon... but I still found time to ink up a new set - I was so excited when lawn fawn's "gnome sweet gnome" was popped into my mailbox on Friday afternoon!

Why, hello, little sir!  Are you going to your mushroom-house-post-office to mail me that love note?  You're blushing... what does it say?  hee hee.

I stamped the gnome and mushroom house from the set, and gave him a sweet little envelope to hold from the "you've got mail" set.  The little heart was stamped into the envelope (from "critters ever after").  I wanted to create a little scene, so I grabbed my memento black marker, and drew in the grass and walkway.  Truth be told, I can't draw - that's why I stamp - but the simple lines work just fine with these images.  I colored everything in with copic markers, and then (of course!) created masks for the gnome and the mushroom house so that I could stamp the hero arts envelope pattern over-top.  I love that subtle texture!

Here's the full reveal :)  I stamped the kraft background with PTI's polka dot basics II, and used the greeting from "you've got mail".  You really can't tell in these photos, but all around the greeting-label, I drew stitch-lines with a light-blue marker.  In real life, it's a nice touch...promise :)

In other, non-stampy news, this morning is Sofia's first day back after her spring break... but with the time change, it was hard to get her to bed at a decent hour - and I'm anticipating having to wake her this morning - anyone else's kids have a hard time adjusting?

Have a great day!

  3. The card is very cute! The colours are quite vibrant. BTW, I find it equally adorable that you are having a conversation with a fictitious gnome.
