Hibernating (Lawn Fawn Fall/Winter new release week!)

 Hi there!

Welcome to another day of Lawn Fawn's Fall and Winter new release week! We're showing off the new collection all week long, and it will be available for purchase as of September 10th.

Today is our showcase of Den Sweet Den and the nesting Stitched Den Dies.

Hibernating (Lawn Fawn fall/winter new release week!)

Aren't they so sweet? I love how the den dies look when they are layered - the stitching outline at every layer adds so much depth. I also cut a layer of mountains, so that it looks like they are sleeping way underground, and ink blended in cool blues, purples and brown.

Inside their den, I gave them some milk and cookies (from Ho-Ho-Holidays) and a carpet to sleep on (from Christmas Dreams). The stack of books and big heart are from the Den Sweet Den set.

I really love how this card came together and I hope you like it too!

Ho-ho-holidays (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's September inspiration week. I have 2 cards to share with you for our showcase of Ho-ho-holidays and the Rooftop Border die.

Guess who's really doing all the heavy lifting? hee hee. I started with a piece of white cardstock for the snowy background layer, and ink-blended different shades of blue ink. I also added extra little splatters of white paint on top.

My next card brings in the oldest set, Christmas Dreams. After all of the presents are delivered, the Clauses deserve some down-time. I laid a piece of woodgrain patterned paper for the floor, and added all of the living room elements (including the little kitty!) on top of it.

I hope you like both cards! There's more to see on the LF blog this morning - click!

a cozy christmas (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to another day of this month's Lawn Fawn inspiration week. Today, we're showing off the Reveal Wheel Square Add-On dies:

a cozy christmas (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

The Reveal Wheel creates an interactive card design, where the sentiment changes as you turn the wheel. And, take it from someone who is "challenged" in the interactive card-making department: it's really easy to use!

I imagined a little lounge area in the North Pole, where the elves could come in and take a break. They would make a plate of cookies for Santa too, right?  I used images from Christmas Dreams and the little elf from Holiday Helpers.

When you turn the wheel, the other sentiments are revealed. It's so fun!

I hope you like the cozy little Christmas scene I've created for you. Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog for more inspiration today - click!

plaid for the holidays (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

We're back with more Lawn Fawn inspiration today, showing off the Perfectly Plaid Chill paper collection.

As a side note, for those interested in card photography: this picture was taken at the exact same time as yesterday's card. The softer colors were harder for the camera to appreciate, I guess. This one looks so washed out compared to the rich vibrancy of yesterday's picture. My PSA for today is: if you're really wanting the card photo to impress, it'll be easier if the card itself is full of rich color, and contrasting colors too. This one is too soft, but you know I love a pastel pallette!

Back to it: I used bands of the plaid patterned paper to frame out my little scene. The fox and hedgehog are from Jump For Joy and Forest Feast. I love that they are fall sets but could be used throughout the year!

The Christmas accessories are from Christmas Dreams.

purple for the holidays (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Lawn Fawn inspiration week continues with a closer look at the Stitched Hillside Backdrops.

I tried to step outside of my red-aqua or red-brown holiday colors and do something a little more moody-in-eggplant:

I did some ink-blending for the base layer, flecked on some white paint, and layered the Stitched Hillside Backdrop over the top.

In one move, the entire layout for the card is taken care of - I love that!  All I had to do was to reach for some cute images and fit them into the hillsides.

I reached for the little snowmen from Ready Set Snow and paired them with the tree from Christmas Dreams as well as a few tiny accessories. The little gingerbread man is my fave, from Holiday Party Animal.

The sentiment, from Snow Cool, seemed to fit with all of the outdoors and snowmen.

I hope you like it! There's more to see on the LF blog this morning - click!

Christmas dreams (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Lawn Fawn inspiration week is moving along! Today, we're taking a closer look at the cozy set, Christmas Dreams.

Christmas dreams (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

I wanted to create a living room scene, and give some dimension to show that the fireplace is a little removed from the tree and the kitty, so I placed it within a cut-out to give that illusion of extra room space. I used a piece of subtle grey knit paper, from the Knit Picky paper collection to back the fireplace.

To ground all of the cute images, I used a strip of woodgrain paper for the "floor." I just love all of the elements included in this set! It was so much fun to color and put together.

I hope you like it! There's more to see on the LF blog this morning - click!
