sesame street party!

I love, love, love working with friends for their kids' parties.  When Chantalle asked me for ideas for her sesame street party, all I said was: sesame street signs everywhere, character faces on the dessert table only.  Look at the pictures and let me know if you think we made the right decision *wink*

Chantalle bought this market stand from ikea and transformed it into a very cute photo-booth.  I die-cut the letters that spell "Hooper's store" across the top.  The birthday boy and his friend are not included in your ikea purchase.

My proudest contribution to the party was this lamp-post.  I painted and put together a dowel and base, poked a big styrofoam ball at the top, and added my crafty version of the iconic street sign.  See the letter dies?  Upcoming lawn fawn dies - aren't they amazing?  I used my cameo silhouette to cut out the sign shapes.

The games included a cookie toss, right into an open Cookie Monster's mouth, and an Oscar the Grouch garbage toss.  so fun!

And then, there was a dessert table:

I love the reversible cake for the birthday siblings (made by the oh-so-talented Lisa Kelly.)  A Noah sign on one side,

and a Zoe sign on the other.  The birthday munchkin was so cute in yellow:

By the way, do you know what happens when kids eat blue icing?

hee hee.  I hope you liked your walk through Sesame Street!  Thanks for letting me share it on my blog, Chantalle!

  2. This is too much fun! You and your cake decorating and party throwing friends are amazing! I'm going to just chalk this up to some sort of weird Montreal ritual so as not to feel bad. Here in Virginia we don't do stuff like that (or at least I'm not invited....)
