a little love (with Ellen Hutson)

Hi there!

With valentine's day fast approaching, I wanted to squeeze in another card using Avery Elle's Cupids stamp set! I grabbed some stamps and dies from Ellen Hutson's exclusive line and came up with this:

a little love (with Ellen Hutson)

(not even apologizing for the shameless plug of my cupids. ha! i had to add in a few others to the right so you could see them all colored.)

Once I had the cupid colored, I put it aside to start on my graphic die-cut background. I used the Confetti Kisses dies, and cut into a piece of white cardstock until it covered the entire background. Such a simple little set of dies, but what a punch when you set it up like this! I used a Lawn Fawn frame die to cover the edges that were not so pretty.

To finish things off, I added a sentiment from Unicorns 'N Rainbows - I thought it worked perfectly with this arrow-shooting cupid!

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Lawn Fawn sneak peek week, day 3

Hi there!

Welcome back to another day of Lawn Fawn's sneak peek week! They're showing off their spring collection on the blog all week long, ahead of the big Creativation show in Phoenix this weekend! Everything shown this week will be available for purchase as of February 20th.

Today, we're showing off some new dies! I'm showing off the Magic Iris die, as well as the Meadow Backdrop: Portrait die.

Lawn Fawn sneak peek week, day 3

First up, the Magic Iris die. It is so cool! And, take it from someone who is very interactive card-challenge, it is an easy one to put together.

Above, you see what it looks like when it's closed. As you pull the tab down, magical things start happening:

The astronomer mouse is so cute, isn't it? Another must-have new set - it is so sweet! I curved the first part of the sentiment around the circle, and the rest of it is revealed as you continue to pull on the tab.

I die. I love it so much! I did the same kind of ink-blending on all of the layers, so that the night sky would be seamless. I flicked on some white paint onto each layer before adding all of the stamped star elements.

My next card features more mice! And the Meadow Backdrop die.

This card is so soft and subtle, and I think the little mouse blowing on the dandelion is the sweetest. I added the Stitched Windy Backdrop - I thought it added to the theme of dandelions blowing away! And I cut the Meadow Backdrop out of Spiffy Speckles patterned paper, but framed the whole thing in white to give it a bit of a pop.

Pretty Pink Posh birthday blog hop!

Hi there!

Pretty Pink Posh is turning 6 and I'm honored to be joining them on day 2 of this 3-day birthday blog hop!

I made 2 cards using items from the newest release! My first card features the Party Friends and Large Floral Hearts stamp sets.

These images are adorable! I stamped and die-cut the heart frame and colored the flowers using copic markers. I then die-cut the same heart frame out of a striped patterned paper layer. To get the dimension that I wanted, I stacked 4-5 plain heart frame die-cuts and adhered them into the opening.

I did some purple ink blending on the card-base and created dreamy, bokeh dots using a white gel pen. The mice complete the card, and are adhered with foam dots to give extra dimension.

My second card features a different critter from Party Friends, as well as a new coverplate: the Birthday Frame die.

This card didn't photograph right, but it is my favorite! I started out by die-cutting the frame, and used copic markers to add color to the party elements. Then, I stamped out the lion using Lawn Fawn Crunchy Leaf ink and colored him in using copic markers. In real life, he is so soft and cute! I used a speckled paper as my base layer, which provided the perfect amount of interest to an otherwise simple card.

I also used critters from Just Dandy and Really High Five, which were shown off yesterday. I love that the mouse at the bottom looks like he's whistling happy birthday! so cute! Another new product for today are the balloon dies! I layered a stitched balloon frame onto a sold balloon and stamped a circular greeting you'll see more of very soon!

Lawn Fawn sneak peek week, day 1

Hi there!

Lawn Fawn's spring release is headed to the Creativation show in Phoenix later this week, but they're giving you a sneak peek at the new line all week long! All of these new products will be available for sale as of February 20th.

I made 2 cards for today's post!

The first one features A Bug Deal:

Aren't they adorable?? I turned the branch vertical to create a twiggy home for a few bugs against a night sky.

I love the "sorry to bug you" sentiment!

My second card features Really High Five:

The jumping critters are too cute! I drew in little motion lines around each critter to emphasize how they might be wiggling in mid-air.
