Sweet as Maple Syrup

Hi there!

I have a sweet card to share today, featuring Avery Elle's Maple Syrup:

This card is pretty simple, but everything works so well together! Maple Syrup was meant to be a Canada Day set, but I included a few sentiments so that it could work for anyone! For this card, I went with Canada Day colors, but used this sweet-as-maple-syrup sentiment. I think it's adorable! When using a tiny stamp set (Maple Syrup is only a 2x3 set), it helps to bring in images from other sets. Here, I brought it little grass accents and mushrooms from Look How Big, and an extra bird from Life

For the background, I used a sheet of red gingham, from The Holiday Collection Paper Pad. There are many designs in this paper collection that work for projects outside of the Christmas holidays!

To break up all of the gingham, I used 2 different sizes of circle dies to cut into the patterned paper and create a white frame. The little scene fit perfectly inside. Is there anything cuter than a buck-toothed beaver holding a bottle of maple syrup?

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Scootin' by! (Lawn Fawn new release week)

 Hi there!

Welcome back to Lawn Fawn's May release week! Today is our showcase of Scootin' By:

Scootin' By! (Lawn Fawn new release week)

I used the new Slimline Road Border, and stenciled grass in between to create a ground for all 3 critters to do their scooting!

I brought in party hats and balloons, since everyone seems to be having birthdays in May and June!

Avery Elle new release blog hop!

Hi there!

Avery Elle new release blog hop!

I am so excited because our Summer 2021 Release is finally here!!  We have an amazing blog hop full of inspiration today and we are so glad that you are here. I illustrated 4 new sets in the mix (Sweet Day, Life, Maple Syrup, and Flamazing), and I'm thrilled to show off 2 of them here today.

Introducing.... Sweet Day:

Avery Elle new release blog hop!

I made 3 cards to show off today! For this one, I did some light green ink blending to create a ground, and used a cloud stencil and some blue ink to create a bright sky. I curved the script sentiment around the giant ice cream cone and added a secondary sentiment below the images. The little bird looking on is from the companion set, Life. I love that little turtle - he looks so pleased with his popsicle! I kept the colors very soft and pretty.

For my second set, I wanted to create a more urban setting for my ice cream truck! I used the cityscape image from Superheroes:

Again, I brought in the birds from Life, and have them looking down on the truck and treats. The basic setup of the images is the same, but the feel is very different with those grey buildings in the background! The red accents really stand out against the more bleak background.

My last card features the saddest piglet in the world. He dropped his treat, and on a hot summer's day there's nothing more devastating.

I stamped the ice cream truck from Sweet Day, masked it and the bird, and stenciled some clouds in behind. I kept the coloring very muted, so that it almost looks like a vintage sepia polaroid. I felt like it added to the... sadness? The pig was colored in a brighter pink, and his chocolate in rich browns.

I hope you like them! I'm doing a giveaway for Sweet Day - check out my post on instagram to enter!

And check out all of the amazing inspiration along the entire blog hop:

Happy hugs! (Lawn Fawn new release week)

 Hi there!

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's May release week! On May 13th, 7 new stamp sets, coordinating dies, and 9 new stand-alone dies will hit the store.

Today is our showcase of Happy Hugs. It is the cutest set ever!

Happy hugs! (Lawn Fawn new release week)

I used the Peekaboo Backdrop to be able to create mini scenes on the card. There are the ones who are hugging, and the ones who are dreaming of hugs to come! To emphasize the word HUGS, I nabbed it from Long Distance Hugs - it works so well with the sentiments in Happy Hugs!

This bunny and fox image is my favorite. I can't get over how adorable they are! Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog this morning for more design team inspiration - click!
