Avery Elle Summer of Stamping blog hop

Hi there!

I'm excited to be blog hopping for Ellen Hutson's Summer of Stamping - and today's hop is celebrating a new, exclusive set by Avery Elle, called Peek-A-Boo-Pals Camp Wanna Stamp, created just for this event!

Isn't it so cute?? It was so much fun to play with!




I created a night-time scene, dotting a dark blue paper with white stars. To make the canoe really stand out, I colored it a bright red and placed the racoon and bunny inside. I gave the bunny a lantern to hold, which is attracting all of the fish! I ink-blended the water portion with different teal inks and left it lighter near the lantern. I used a copic marker to add little ripples in the water. To finish off, I added some clear crystal drops to the water and a sweet sentiment from the set.

Lawn Fawn Summer of Stamping blog hop!

I loved putting this one together! I made a night-time scene, so that they could roast all the marshmallows!

If you look at the close-up, you'll see an extra detail - I stamped an extra "arm" for each critter, and stuck it on top. I like when they actually look like they're holding the stuff. ha.

new Ellen Hutson release!

Hi there!

It's release day over at Ellen Hutson! There is a fantastic collection of stamps and dies in their store right now - click! You've seen sneak peeks of our projects on social media, but today we're showing them to you in full and celebrating with a blog hop!

I chose all of the circus-themed goodies to make my projects for you today:

I used Ain't Life A Circus for all of the images - aren't they cute? I have most of them doing a balancing act, with the Ringmaster lion looking on. I placed everything onto a starry background - I used a stencil but then really rubbed the ink everywhere so it softened to a tone-on-tone background.



I stamped the 3-part greeting in 2 different colors of ink - I really wanted the word CIRCUS to pop! To finish off, I added a ticket to the side, and also gave the circus balls a coat of glossy accents.

To go along with my card, I made an adorable circus box! I just love this!

Isn't it cute? I did some extra steps to make it a bit fancier - I wanted the pop of that white border on the top, as well as the bars in the kraft color. I also heat-emboss the word CIRCUS at the top and added some fun flags to either side.



And obviously, I had to add peanuts to the box! This would be so fun for favors at a circus- themed party! I hope you like my projects!

(another) Avery Elle blog hop!

Yesterday's blog hop was so much fun, I'm joining in with some of the Ellen Hutson team to show Avery Elle even more love! The new release deserves another celebration!

I have a few cards to share with you today!

The first is another Astronauts card because I did get a little carried away when making samples:

I used a sheet of ombre paper from AE's new spring collection paper pad, and flicked on some white ink before cutting into it with a stitched circle die. I then created a stellar party scene in the negative space. I tucked the rocket balloon behind the crater so it looks like the astronaut just landed for a party!

For my second card, I used the moon image from the astronauts set, the new Constellation Scene die set, and the new Invitation Frame die to create this cute invite:

This one came together so quickly! I covered my card-stock panel with a length of Altenew's watercolor nebula washi tape and then cut into it with all of the constellations from the Constellation Scene die set. Then, I layered the invitation frame and "you're invited" sentiment over the top before adding the adorable moon and starry images.

For my last card, I reached for another new set, Beary Good Friends:

I just think this set turned out so sweet. The bigger bear is lying down in the grass and other animals can sit on his belly (or dance on his belly, if you use the little mice included in the set!) Here, the 2 friends are sharing a moment. I stamped and fussy-cut an extra bear arm, and glued it over the base arm layer - I wanted it to look like the fox was really cradled in there!

a little love (with Ellen Hutson)

Hi there!

With valentine's day fast approaching, I wanted to squeeze in another card using Avery Elle's Cupids stamp set! I grabbed some stamps and dies from Ellen Hutson's exclusive line and came up with this:



(not even apologizing for the shameless plug of my cupids. ha! i had to add in a few others to the right so you could see them all colored.)

Once I had the cupid colored, I put it aside to start on my graphic die-cut background. I used the Confetti Kisses dies, and cut into a piece of white cardstock until it covered the entire background. Such a simple little set of dies, but what a punch when you set it up like this! I used a Lawn Fawn frame die to cover the edges that were not so pretty.

To finish things off, I added a sentiment from Unicorns 'N Rainbows - I thought it worked perfectly with this arrow-shooting cupid!

Holiday Characters (new EBE release!)

Hi there!

There's a new Essentials by Ellen release and we're celebrating with a fun blog hop! There is a lot of eye-candy along every stop of the hop, and there are prizes to be won too!

I used the new (and super adorable) Holiday Characters stamp set to create this card. It was designed by Julie Ebersole and so perfect for fun holiday cards and tags.



I started out by stamping and die-cutting all of the images. I then colored them in using copic markers. It was hard to tell in that first photo, but after I arranged all of the images, I created a shaker in front of them all. I didn't add too much of the chunky glitter but just enough so that when you shake it, it adds a sparkly dust to the background. Christmas magic!



I hid all of the foam tape around the edges with a white rectangle frame die (from Lawn Fawn) and then heat-embossed a sentiment (from the Mondo Holly stamp set) on a strip of black cardstock. I love a super-simple/unfussy sentiment when the rest of the card already has so much going already.

Hello Bluebird

Hi there!

Recently, Ellen Hutson started carrying stamps and dies from Hello Bluebird! They have some of the sweetest images, and I loved playing with some of their newest release:



The little pigs from Beach Babes are so fun! I made quick work of the card design by using the Gallery Frame #4 die.

I did some soft ink-blending in the background and added little bokeh accents with a white gel pen.



For this next card, I inked up Field Mice. I did some ink-blending to the card base, flecked on some white paint, and arranged the mice on top.

To create symmetry, I started out by placing a mushroom on each end, and then found mice that could sit and stand on the 'shrooms. I love the dandelion fluff blowing in the wind, and the one seated on the left just enjoying the view.

yellow submarine (new Essentials by Ellen!)

Hi there!

There is a new Essentials by Ellen release and we're celebrating with a blog hop! All of the new sets and dies are available in the store right now - click!

I created a card using the new set, Subbing In:

Obviously, if I'm gonna color a submarine, it's gonna be yellow. I created a whole underwater scene, adding layers of depth to the underwaters by way of ink blending and the Landscapes dies.

Don't you love the quirky characters? That jellyfish has so much personality!



I masked off a triangle when I began to ink-blend, so that I could blend it in at the end, but have it be much lighter than the rest. I wanted it to look like a light coming from the sub to see what is down there!



Before adhering all of the images, I splattered on both white and dark navy paints to add further interest to the background. I hope you like it!

Bloom (with Ellen Hutson)

Hi there!

I just love the Mondo flower series from Ellen Hutson's exclusive line, don't you? The newest Mondo Wildflowers bouquet is so sweet.

I colored the bouquet using copic markers, and added a bank of grey and white striped patterned paper to the left to balance the sentiment stamped on the right.



I flicked on some soft brown in for added interest before adhering the large flower image.  I just love that sentiment! Isn't it the sweetest? My eldest daughter got this card for her April birthday, and it perfectly celebrated her on her special day.

big floral thanks (with Ellen Hutson)

I have a few days with nothing to post, so I think I will go back and share projects that I made at the beginning of the month that were never blogged yet.

Let's start with this big beautiful floral number, from the Mondo Gerbera Daisy stamp set:

I can't even tell you how much I adore the entire "mondo" flower line of stamps that Ellen Hutson has in their store. I hope they make more of them. (You hear me, Julie? you genius, you!)

And this daisy image is so perfect for a quick and easy card. I am the world's slowest colorer (it's been documented) but this card came together in under 30 minutes. Because I only really had to color the stems and the middle of the flowers, I got the drama from the large floral without the coloring-time-commitment. In case you'd like to know, I used copic markers - Y02, Y11, and Y17 for the yellow centers.



I started with a card base, onto which I did a little ink blending with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink.  Before the ink could dry, I flecked water droplets onto the entire think, for that dreamy bokeh effect.

Next, I layered on the flowers, and stamped the greeting in the lower right hand corner to finish things off.

Little lady (Ellen Hutson)

I posted this card awhile back to my instagram account, but never blogged it:



I used a few Ellen Hutson exclusive sets to create this card. The sweet girl is from Little Lady, and the sentiment is from Totally Random Sayings Vol. 2. I really love the mix of fonts in that set!



My biggest challenge when I color people images is to decide on colors for the outfits. For this one, I gave her something straight out of my Maia's closet. It made me happy while I was coloring her.

Letterboard Christmas tree (Ellen Hutson)

With only a few more sleeps 'til Christmas, I'm gonna try to sneak in a few cards that I made but never blogged yet.

I used the Ellen Hutson Letterboard die set to create this fun card:

There is so much online inspiration for letterboard quotes! This one was so clever I had to re-create it. I started out by die-cutting the "felt" part using black cardstock, and the frame out of Lawn Fawn woodgrain paper.  I then die-cut all of the letters I needed and set them up to form (what I hope looks like) a Christmas tree.



I added an asterisk star at the top, and put together 3 of the straight lines (from the percentage symbol) to form the base of the tree.

I adhered the letterboard onto a piece of Christmas paper, and added a holly accent (using Lawn Fawn's Woodland Critter Huggers Winter Add-On dies.)

EBE favorites blog hop

Hi there!

Ellen Hutson is celebrating 12 years! The design team has gotten together to celebrate, by creating cards with our favorite Essentials by Ellen stamp sets. It was too hard to choose one, so I chose 2:



I used Plaid Maker to create my background. I stamped the solid block image in black ink onto red cardstock. To create the lighter squares, I first stamped off onto scrap paper before pressing down onto my red card. I usually take more time to make sure the plaid is perfect, but I eyeballed everything here. I wanted it to look homespun and hand-painted. To finish off the plaid, I inked up some stripes in white ink. It looks so cozy!

The focal image snowman is from my other favorite set, Snow Buds. I colored his scarf, hat and mittens to match the background. I dangled his mittens again like I did in *this card.* I love the look!

The only sentiment I needed was from the Neat and Tangled set, Stay Cool. I overlapped the mittens onto the sentiment and adhered them to a kraft-colored circle. I used a white paint pen to color the outside edge of the circle, and dotted little snow flakes to the inside.

A sweatered llama

Hi there!

I posted this card to my instagram yesterday, but I thought it would be fun to show you how I made the little sweater for the Neat and Tangled Fa La Llama llama:



I started out by inking the llama image, but I wiped off all of the ink for his scarf and saddle detailing. Is it a saddle? dude, I have no idea. But you can see what got stamped on the right. I used a pencil to doodle a sweater design, and then traced over my doodle with a copic-friendly pen (like this one!)



I then colored him in using copic markers. I think he is just so sweet! The next step was to use him on a card:

I could help but stamp the Santa from Elfs And Their Shelf, and have him ride on the llama's back. I also stamped out the little snowman from Snow Fun, and tucked him behind a gift.



The sentiment, from Snow Days, was heat embossed, and I used a white gel pen to add little snowflakes to the background. The whole thing was set against a cozy knit patterned paper (by Lawn Fawn.)

Oh what fun! (an EBE sneak peek)

I'm back today with another sneak peek of the new EBE collection, coming this Sunday November 4th:

I used the new Snow Days set, as well as the set from yesterday's peek, Snow Buds to create this fun card.



I used 2 of the pattern strips from Snow Days to create a pink background. It looks like a cozy knitted sweater! I then stamped the graphic sentiment in black ink right overtop.

The snowman, from Snow Buds looks like he's actually saying the sentiment out loud! I love his little open mouth. I colored his hat and scarf in blue, to keep the color scheme soft and girly.

Snow Buds (an EBE sneak peek!)

Hi there!

I'm thrilled I get to share an Essentials by Ellen sneak peek - you will love this winter collection!

I used the new Snow Buds set to create this card:

Aren't they the cutest? I love them. I stamped out 3 snowmen, and gave them different faces and accessories. They take on different personalities, just by altering the faces and where you stamp them!

I set them against a navy cardstock that was die-cut using Lawn Fawn's Snowy Backdrop die. I edged the corners of the navy paper with a white ink to create a little bit of a hazy sky.

I placed their stick arms to make it look like they are throwing their arms around their friend in the middle. ha! The sentiment works so perfectly with this scene.
