Before the holidays, I was lucky enough to be contacted by Top Dog Dies, and asked if I'd like to work with some of their products. I jumped at the chance.
You may not know Top Dog Dies. It is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including My Favorite Things, Sizzix, Savvy Stamps, and Cheery Lynn Designs. Tog Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace, a new line of intricate dies designed by U.K. designer Stephanie Weightman.
What I l-o-v-e about this box die is that the lid fits snuggly onto the box. So snug, that if I didn't display my boxes like this, I would have strung them up on a garland. I may still do that. A garland of boxes would be an adorable way to display party favors, or even (groan) thinking ahead to next year's advent calendars.
I also used their book card die. I'm not huge on album-making, but I really wanted to work with this. Sofia and her little school-friends have been making their own "about-me" booklets (I find them sometimes mixed in with her homework, and they are adorable). I thought it would be a fun activity for the kids to fill out on New Year's Eve.
I re-formatted a question-sheet that I found on Pinterest. You can find it in full here. I printed and cut the questions into 4 sheets, using the book card die. You can die-cut anything you print - it's easy! Run a thin paper through your machine using the die you want, and then use the negative space to figure out your paper placement. I held the card-stocks in place with washi tape while running them through the die-cutter.
It was so fun to see what the kids filled out. Apparently, Sofia's hardest thing about 2013 was "piano." I asked her why her double-knee surgery didn't qualify and she just shrugged. I love this kid.
I hope you like my projects and check out Top Dog for yourself! They are kindly allowing me to run a giveaway!
All you have to do to be eligible is click *HERE* and register on their giveaway page. You can earn additional entries by commenting on this blog post, liking their facebook page, and following them on pinterest, instagram and twitter. Good luck!
ETA: the giveaway will close on Monday, January 6th.
I'd like to also thank Meagan for Top Dog's generosity. They had to send the package twice to Canada, which is no small deal in my book. Companies jump through hoops to be able to send things across the border, and I was sure it wouldn't be worth their while to re-send the package. To me, that counts for something.
