Swinging by (Neat and Tangled release week)

Hi there!

Welcome back to the last day of new product reveals for Neat and Tangled's January release week! Everything will be available for sale as of 8am EST tomorrow morning.

Today, we're showing off a 3x4 stamp set I designed, called Swinging By:

It features a single image, the elephant and the little girl swinging from his trunk, and a few mix and match sentiment options.

I used some washi tape for an easy night-time backdrop - I can't stop using that stuff! Before adhering the elephant, I cut into the night sky layer with the Stitched Sunburst die. It's subtle, but I love how it draws further attention to the sweet elephant.

I used the Stitched Slopes dies to create rolling hills beneath his feet, and heat-embossed the sentiment onto a black flag for a graphic touch.

I hope you like it! There's more to see on the Neat and Tangled blog this morning - CLICK!  And don't forget to leave me a comment before you go - Danielle will pick a winning comment from among the design team's blog posts this week. You could win a $25 gift card to the NT store.

dreidel, dreidel, dreidel (Neat and Tangled release week)

Hi there!

Welcome back to the last day of new product reveals for Neat and Tangled's October release! All of the products shown this week will hit the store tomorrow morning, by 8am EST.

Today, we're showing off Darling Dreidels, a 3x4 set that was widely requested! The little kids dressed up as dreidels were created in the style of other holiday sets I've illustrated, like Christmas Pageant and this week's Nativity Play:

Before I talk about the card, I just want to thank my friend Merry Firschein, who was kind enough to help me make sure that the sentiments were appropriate and would be fun to use on Hanukkah cards!

I colored the images and set them onto a panel that I ran through with the Stitched Sunburst die. I actually ran it through with that die 2 times, rotating it before the 2nd time, so that the burst effect was more detailed behind the kids.

Apparently, if your dreidel lands on gimel, you win! I thought that was such a fun sentiment suggestion.

If you celebrate Hanukkah, I especially love to know what you think of this little set!

As always, don't forget to leave a comment before you go - there will be a winner chosen from among all of the DT blog comments this week. A $25 store gift card is up for grabs! And be sure to check out the NT blog this morning, for more Darling Dreidel inspiration!

you're a wiener! (Neat and Tangled)

Hi there!

I'm still playing with my newest set for Neat and Tangled, Hot Dog:

hot dog!

I giggle every time I stamp out these little guys! I stamped "#1" into the middle of the trophy, and made one hot dog present it to his sassy friend, who was obviously expecting the honor. ha. Just standing there, with his hands on his hips. He knew it.

I added a Stitched Sunburst behind him so he'd shine even more.

hot dog!

I grounded the hot dogs with a picnic-ready gingham patterned paper and added the sentiment to a sentiment flag.

A few scattered stars finished things off.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

little monster (Neat and Tangled release week)

Hi there!

Welcome back to the last day of new reveals for this month's Neat and Tangled release week. All of the products shown this week will hit the store tomorrow morning!

Today, we're featuring my second set of the month, a 3x4 stamp set called Little Monster. I made 2 cards to share with you. My first one is pretty simple, but still sweet!

My son loved this card! I stamped, colored and die-cut the monster and the big monster sentiment, and placed them onto a piece of white cardstock. I ran the panel through the die-cutter with the Stitched Sunburst die, to make sure he really popped! When I am crafting a simple card, I find the little textural details make all the difference.

I gave him a red heart to hold, and stamped the supporting sentiment to finish off this card.

I tried a different color scheme on my next card:

From a more masculine card to this much more girly one, I love that the set could be used either way!  and ps, I really just illustrated this set so I could include this sentiment. My mom always called us little monsters and I like to think of it as endearing, instead of passive aggressive. ha.

I colored the monster in purples and mint, gave him a pink birthday balloon and cupcake, and stuffed them all inside the box.

I hope you like what I've created! Before you go, be sure to leave a comment below. Tomorrow morning, Danielle will announce the winner of a 25$ store gift card, picked at random from all of the design team blog comments.

And check out the NT blog this morning to see more little monsters - click!
