you're a star!

Welcome back to another day of lawn fawn inspiration!  We're showing off "lucky stars" - a new 3x4 stamp set, and a set of lawn cuts dies- stackable puffy stars!  I puffy heart these puffy stars!

If someone is a star around our house, that deserves a treat. 

The stars from "lucky stars" make for a great pattern!  I decorated a kraft cupcake liner (cut with this die) to match the topper.



Did you know that you can turn any star into a 5 point star?  I made two of them, and nested them together. So fun!  As an added bonus, the sentiment fits perfectly into the little banner.

sorry I'm overdue {25 days of CSS inspiration}

CSS is doing things a little differently this month!  It's been three years since the CSS daily app first made an appearance on the crafting scene.  Each day the app features a new project, complete with instructions and photos.  You can save to your favorites for quick reference, and search through past months for even more inspiration.

In celebration of the CSS daily app, we are giving you 25 days of inspiration.  Each day, a DT member will bring you a fun new project, and as an added bonus, will showcase a coordinating project on the app.  yay!

Since it is teacher appreciation week, I automatically reached for school-themed images and dies.  But, if you're like me, you might have the best intentions and none of the follow-through.  This is a great project to give your child's teacher, even if you can't manage to get to it until next week *wink*

I printed the card sentiment via computer (the font I used is called traveling typewriter) and paired it with images from airmail, and that perfect apple.  The notebook edge die worked perfectly to accent the top of the card.  And, of course, a glossy apple.  I can't help it.  I stamp an apple and I just have to gloss it up.

To match the card, I created a little backpack - it can be filled with treats, a gift card, or tiny notecards.  I stamped the same notebook page image on the front of the backpack, and brought in some alpha love on the red accent piece.




Moral of the story: better late than never. hee.

I'm back with Mama Elephant to show off my cards made with the new "tree friends" set.

When Kryssi first emailed the images of the upcoming sets, I squealed a little when I saw this one.  It's right up my alley, being so cute 'n all... I already used it for my stampede day project, but I wanted to try a few different things for this post.

I can't even tell you how much I love this card.  That sentiment still makes me giggle.



I paired it with a fun triangle border, added some sequins and a wood veneer heart, and snickered at it some more.



I mean, c'mon - he's offering his friend an apple.  I die.

My next card is completely different:

I embossed the tree with some zing aqua embossing powder, and then dabbed in some color here and there with copic markers.

I stamped and cut out the little squirrel separately, so that I could add him over-top.



I love this sentiment - it is such a sweet saying, and the fonts are fantastic.  I know I'll be reaching for it quite a bit.  I accented the sentiment with some roughly-torn washi tape, and added a ribbon to the side of my card.

It's time for another lawnscaping challenge!  Did you miss us last week?  The extra week in April meant an extra week without lawnscaping - I was anxious to get going with this one!

This card is a little different than my regular lawn fawn cards - it's a bit more graphic than what I usually come up with.

I used a silhouette file for the sunburst, and put it onto a square card-base.



This challenge is all about "bling" - I think I brought it with my shimmery gold sentiment!

Welcome back to another day of new lawn fawn sets!  Today, we're showing off (my favorite new release set!) "a good apple."



Isn't it cute?  I just love it!  I went the straightforward route, in honor of teacher appreciation week.  (this won't be the only apple-themed project you see on the blog this week - *wink*.)

Everything on the chalkboard is one-layer.  I did some stamping and masking and sponging of black soot distress ink to give depth without adding bulk.  At the end of it all, I added the embossed sentiment.

I get asked why I love masking so much - hands down, it's because the end result is much more professional than if I attempted to hand-cut the different elements.  Plus, I always enjoy the magic moment when I remove the mask and it all looks amazing!



Everybody loves a newly-polished apple, am I right?  I gave mine a coat of glossy accents.  And here's a tip: this set is m-a-d-e to be used with schoolhouse backdrops.  The stamped notebook paper background was a no-brainer, hee.

Vintage blue skies

Happy Sunday, and welcome to lawn fawn inspiration week!  I'm so excited to be able to share the new sets - they are all so adorable!

Today, we're highlighting "blue skies," a hot air balloon set with lawn fawn flair:



I stamped the adorable hot air balloon, colored it in with copics and then stamped the chevron pattern from "interlocking backdrops" over-top for some subtle pattern.  A flying banner was easy to create: I stamped the full banner, and just drew in a few lines to close it off and make it look like the balloon was carrying it across the *pink* sky.



The clouds are subtle, but so cute!  (I love that they are flat-bottomed, don't you?) I stamped them in a pink ink, and then swiped some copic shading into them.

wavin' happy birthday!

Lawn fawn is teaming up with Perfect Paper Crafting to show off what you can do with the perfect tears tools.  I used the wavy rulers to create an ombré ocean for my party dolphin to jump out of:

For the dolphin, I stamped the hat first and masked it, before stamping the dolphin overtop.  I then cut around the entire dolphin/hat combo.  For a bit of extra party pizazz, I added a little bow-tie.

The ocean was made in a snap!  I grabbed a few different blues from my card-stocks stash, and went to work with the rulers (I used the largest wave).  They even provided a little water-pen so that I could break down the cardstock fibers with a little water before ripping.  Every rip scored me two wavy layers - how awesome is that?  Four tears later, I had a full ocean that I stitched together along the sides before adhering it to the card-base.



The sentiment is a bit of a mash-up: I grabbed the first part from "critters of the sea" and the second party from "so much to say."
