Little lamb baby shower (with Lawn Fawn)

Hi there!

I'm on the Lawn Fawn blog this morning, to show off this woolly party:

Little lamb baby shower (with Lawn Fawn)

I have baby fever lately, with the birth of my twin nieces! I used the lamb from Baaah Humbug to create all of the shower decor.

Staging and photographing this party was *interesting* with the kids being home on winter break. I had literally 5 minutes to snap a few photos before the wolves (I'm not even gonna take that back) salivated on the cupcakes.

Thanks kids.

ps, I just got new Lawn Fawn delivered to the house. Just you wait, this CHA release is going to be the best ever! I am so excited to play around with them!

no tricks, just treats (lawn fawn party post)

Hi there!

I have a quick and cute halloween party to share with you today: no tricks, just treats!

no tricks, just treats (lawn fawn party post)

I made 3 of everything so that each one of my kids could have a special little package on halloween day. My 2 oldest kids have retainers this year and they are already lamenting all the gummy candies that they will not be able to eat. ha!

I love all of the critters dressed up in their Booyah costumes! Especially the bat sheep - cracks me right up!

To dress up the water-bottles, I dangled tags (the Small Stitched Envelope label) dressed up with a casual knot.

The cupcake toppers are my fave. I stamped the greeting, from Happy Howloween, to frame the images.

The Candy Corn patterned paper from Perfectly Plaid Fall ties everything together. I just want to point out that the little sprinkles on top of the cupcakes are maple flakes. MAPLE FLAKES. I found a little jar on severe liquidation at William Sonoma (because I can't afford WS treats otherwise, I mean maple flakes at 3$ are fine, but at 25$? nope) and I have been putting them on everything. On toast, on oatmeal, in coffee. So good. Everyone loves maple, right? Not just me because of the Canada connection?

Moving right along, these gable treat boxes are so perfect. I dressed up the same critters and slapped them onto the fronts.

I hope you like my all-cute-no-spook halloween party! I set up for this photoshoot, and cleaned everything up before the kids came home from school. I can't wait for them to see it all put back together on Monday!

fa la la (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there, and welcome back to another day of Lawn Fawn's October inspiration week!

Today, we're showing off the new Fa la la la la border:

fa la la (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

I used the same sheep as I did for yesterday's tags (because I told you I love him.)  I also used the same stitched borders, only more of them on the card.

To help the white sheep pop against the white die-cut circle, I rubbed some soft brown ink into the center of the circle die-cut, which was enough to set the sheep apart.

Did you notice the figgy pudding balloon? From Party Animal.  I added the icing top myself, with a copic-friendly pen. The berry and leaves are from Joy to the Woods. Also, the little Santa hat he's wearing and gingebread cookie he's holding are from Holiday Party Animal.

I nestled the Fa la la la la border right into patterned paper and die-cut circle, by cutting it into those layers so that everything would layer flat except for the sheep and balloon.

Tiny Tags (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

It's Lawn Fawn inspiration week, and today is our showcase of Tiny Tags and Tiny Tag Sayings.

Tiny tags (lawn fawn inspiration week)

Any excuse I have to use this sheep again! I just love the Baaah Humbug lamb so much still. I double tagged it, layering the tiny tags onto the bigger Tag, You're It shape.

I wanted the sheep to pop, so I put him against a starry night background (using the snowy backdrop die.) I cut the same tag shape out of navy cardstock, and then ran it through with the snowy backdrop die so that it had the same shape. I chopped it off to reveal the Stitched Border details on the base tag. I thought they worked so well with the sheep image!

I hope you like my tags! Kelly Marie liked them so much she recreated one on video to show you - click! Just scroll down to the end of the LF blog post to see it.

Cookie Exchange 2015

Hey there! Earlier this month, I hosted this year's annual cookie exchange party.  I think this is year 4? 5? that we've been doing it, and every year we jump homes. I moved to a new home this year, so naturally I wanted to show it off!

cookie exchange 2015

Every year, I try to decorate our spread a little with themed cookie labels. This year, I decided to use Lawn Fawn's Bannerific and Baaah Humbug stamp sets to create all of my decor.

And, because it's a cookie party, the queen of decorated cookies (in my local area, haha!) Marlyn (of Montreal Confections,) whipped up a few matching cookies that I could use as party of the decor. They were the cutest!

I love Marlyn's cookies, and I love watching her make them! It's like magic, and she makes it look so easy. (click HERE for the how-to video)

We tried to make our cookies look as pretty as Marlyn's.  The salted pistachio cookies on the left were my fave. Honestly, I have snuck a few out of the freezer to enjoy with my afternoon coffee.

If you know the Lawn Fawn stamp sets, you know there is no chocolate chip cookie this size anywhere to be found. I improvized by stamping the empty gumball from Sweet Smiles and adding the little chocolate chips from Milk & Cookies. Voila!

I didn't get around to photographing all of the cookies (or at least, not all of them in focus, haha!) I had some competition when it came to getting the table photographed:

After the party, I offered a little handmade parting gift:

Each girl got to take home a set of simple tags to use when handing out cookie gifts.

bah humbug {lawn fawn inspiration week}

Hi there! It's the last of the September posts for Lawn Fawn's inspiration week (but, I realized that I forgot to post yesterday, so expect a bonus pillow box project on the blog tomorrow!)

Today, we're showing off Baaah Humbug.

bah humbug {lawn fawn inspiration week}

I really like how this card turned out! I stamped a lot of the tiny images onto a piece of white cardstock, colored them in red and white and then masked all of the tiny images (yup!) so that I could rub ink over the entire thing for that vintage feel.

I used the stitched rectangle dies to frame out the base layer, and then started on the focal image.

The partial die-cut technique is perfect for cutting out the sheep and his hat as one piece. It gives the image a more polished look (as opposed to seeing the white die-cut edge of the hat on top of the sheep's head.)

For all the red and white and brown on the card, I wanted a punch of something graphic for the sentiment. White heat embossing onto black cardstock does the trick every time.

I hope you like it! There's more to see on the Lawn Fawn blog today - click!
