a less patriotic happy 4th {lawn fawn inspiration week}

It's time for lawn fawn's inspiration week!  Today the team is showing off samples using "happy 4th" - the perfect set to use for all of your 4th of July celebrations.

BUT.

if you are not American, and don't celebrate with red, white, and blue, the set could still work for you.

you are my sunshine

See?  From firework to sunshine, just like that.  I borrowed the happy face from a limited edition set that lawn fawn created for studio calico (this way to fun.) I masked his cutie face to be able to stamp the rays over-top.  They were stamped in black so that the outline of the smiley face would make more sense, but if you have a polka dot stamp, you could stamp that in yellow, and do the same for the rays.  To add a bit more of a sunny glow, I added swipes of various yellow copic markers beside each ray.

The sentiment, from sunny skies, is one of my favorites.  I double-stamped it: first in blue, and then again in black, to tie back into the black+color of the sun.

You may not notice at first glance, but the blue card-base is stamped with white clouds.  That, and the black machine stitching are my favorite elements.

you are my sunshine

ok, and the glossy accents on the sun's happy face.
