woodsy holiday tags

Hi there!  I think we're all past the point of making holiday cards (if not, chop chop!) so I thought I'd share a set of tags you can whip up with lawn fawn stamps and dies.

woodsy holiday tags

It all started with a stroll through Target, where I spotted the plaid wrapping paper. I love a woodland-themed Christmas, and Lawn Fawn's Joy to the Woods is perfect for creating tags to compliment that theme.

These are the pieces you need to create these tags. I find it easier to work systematically: I stamped a sheet of cardstock with all of the birch trees and cardinals that I would need and colored them very quickly. Just a few swipes of a warm grey copic marker for the trees (W1) and 2 tones of red for the cardinals (R24 and R29.)

Then, I die-cut the circles and all of the snow-drifts, and stamped the greeting ("merry christmas" from this set, and the "to" from Birthday Tags.) I placed them all on the same block for easy mass-producing.  Some of the tags feature heat-embossing, but I got lazy halfway through the project and switched to a red ink. No fuss.

When the tags are assembled, add the falling snow with a white gel pen.  Then, you could just handwrite the recipient's name on the front, or you could die-cut letters if you're feeling fancy:

I die-cut the letters in black to compliment the black outlines of the stamped images, as well as the plaid wrapping.

I hope you like what I created!

joy to the woods {lawn fawn september inspiration week}

Welcome to the first day of Lawn Fawn's September inspiration week! Today is our showcase of Joy to the Woods, and its coordinating set of dies.

I think this card has a bit of a folksy feel, don't you?  The artwork is a bit less cutesy than we're used to seeing from lawn fawn, too. I really love this set, and all the things you can do with it!

I let the chipmunk have a ride on the fox's back as they checked out the ornaments that the bird was holding up.

After coloring the images, including the entire background, I masked only some of the images before spraying a blizzard, (mister huey's opaque white spray) then went around accenting the images with a white gel pen. I felt like this worked well with the folksy feel of the card.

Behind the images, I tried my best to line up 2 scraps of striped red paper (from last year's lawn fawn christmas collection) so that it looked like the stripes were going in opposite directions.

sweater weather {lawn fawn's august inspiration week}

Another day of lawn fawn inspiration; this one features the sweater weather stamp set and matching dies.

Even though I especially love the frame (click! to see the lovely frame) I used all of the tiny folliage to make a gift ensemble:

The little chipmunk from "joy to the woods" works so well in a fall setting! I used the leaves and acorn from sweater weather to build a wreath around him in shades of mustard and burnt orange and navy.

Here's a secret: my only navy ink was way too light when I stamped the leaves, so I went over the stamped images with a copic marker to bring it to the richer shade I wanted. It matches the patterned paper much better this way.

I love the goodie bag die. It's a snap to put together and it looks so cute when assembled using double-sided patterned paper! It's like a bag with a snazzy liner.

That's all for me, but there's always way more to see on the lawn fawn blog!

lawn fawn sneak peek week continues!

Are you as excited over the new lawn fawn release as I am?  I'm still waiting on some sets and dies (it takes forever to cross the border to Canada!) and I'm giddy over every post on the lawn fawn blog this week. hee.

I have two cards to show you today, using new sets that will be available for sale at the end of August.

Love You a Latte is the sweetest set!  I love the mustache face.  I paired the latte images with a cozy argyle background and the frame from Sweater Weather.

I stamped the card base full of mug and tea-cup images from the set.

My next card brings on Christmas in July.

Joy to the Woods is such a fantastic set - I just adore those birch trees!  I did a bit of masking to be able to fill the background with the birch trees, and colored the spaces between the trees with a light blue marker.

I added a glossy cardinal to one of the branches and double-stamped the sentiment to mimic the cardinal's red and black coloring.

I stamped the sentiment first in red ink, and then stamped it again and heat-embossed it with black embossing powder. The red just peeks through.
