We're on vacation this week, and I thought that meant I'd spend lots of time in the craft room, but I really feel like taking a break.

Luckily, I have a few cards that I haven't shared yet.

 It wasn't my first time at this rodeo - I created another mini-polaroid coming out of the lawn fawn camera (from the "say cheese" set) before...  but for this one, I used a sentiment - "pull here" - from PTI's "movers and shakers sentiments" to add a bit more fun.

 ... and, when you get around to pulling it out:

The bee is from lawn fawn's "gnome sweet gnome," and the sentiment is from PTI's "tiny treats: birthday" set.

MIM #68 - pocket cards.

Hi peeps!  When it rains, it pours - literally!  We got so much rain in and around Montreal that in some parts the sewers are backed up - ew, ew, EW!

From something icky to something pretty (I did that so my card would look that much nicer after you've just pictured floods and sewer water - kidding!):

I made this one for the current MIM challenge: pocket cards.  My pocket is made out of vellum, the front panel embossed with the woodgrain impression plate, and with a peek-a-boo cut-out for the sentiment to show through.

Here's the pocket without the card.... and with the flower and leaves from "Rosie Posie"...

The card is a one-layer, folded card.  I first stamped my large greeting where I wanted it, and then layered the roses and leaves all around.  I sponged the edges all around with antique linen distress ink.  I know it makes the red bleed a tiny bit, but I don't mind the softness that gives...

Well hello there, sir...

This one is for CAS-ual Fridays current challenge: using dies or punches.

My preppy mister is decked out in a plaid shirt (stamped using PTI's "distressed stripes") and dapper bow-tie.

I used a die from Lil' Inker Designs for the bow, and a label from Clear & Simple Stamps.  The sentiment is courtesy of Papertrey Ink.

For all you married ladies: do you ever wish you could re-do your wedding day?  I wasn't the crafter 9 years ago that I am now... looking at that bridesmaids dress, and those tissue-paper flowers at the top - there's so much that I would do more prettily!  But to be the center of attention on such a long day all over again - no thank you... *wink*

Without further ado, here's my take on the inspiration photo:

I can't seem to put those peonies away, but I did let them share the stage with the new "movers & shakers sentiments" set...

Something wonky happened when I edited my photo, but I don't have the time (read: patience) to play with it anymore... still on spring break over here!

But, since it is Thursday, here's our little TMKS gem of the week: Thomas has been asking if he'll ever have to leave home... what happens when he gets older, does he HAVE to get married, etc.  The fun part: "I wonder if I'll ever find a wife to own me" What? "you know, you make daddy go to work and you take care of everyone, and make sure we all eat our food.  I don't think I'll ever find a wife to own me so well."  Melt my heart, kid.  And also, let's talk about the word "own" - ha ha.
