Avery Elle Create Magic card kit!

Hi there!

There is something new and exciting coming to Avery Elle - our very first card kit!

Isn't it adorable? This limited edition exclusive card kit costs $27 and is only available on www.averyelle.com while supplies last. The kit contains a 4x6 exclusive stamp set, coarse glitter, a roll of hemp twine, acetate sheets, a vinyl zippered mesh bag and patterned paper designed especially for this kit! I created 2 cards using items from the kit. My first card is a cute garden scene:

I stamped out images from the set, and set them against a patterned paper sky. I used the die-cut clouds in there too. I then framed everything with another piece of ephemera and opted for a sentiment strip to finish things off.



On my next card, I featured a pair of fairy friends:

I love that they are kind of mirror-imaged. They play so well together! I stamped the 2 fairies, and a butterfly, and then used items from the kit to pull the card together. The subtle striped of the patterned paper works so well to add texture and interest to the base.

New Essentials by Ellen release blog hop!

Welcome to the new EBE release blog hop! Everything was designed by Julie Ebersole and is so much fun! I have 2 projects to show off!

My first card uses Lil' 'Squatch. I just love those trees! And Big Foot is hilarious. This card came together so quickly, but I love the end result.



I blended some light blue ink into the center of the card panel, and allowed the ink to fade to nothing on either side.  Next I flecked on some light brown ink and then arranged my images - the trees, the 'Squatch, and little forest finds - on top.  The sentiments in this set are hilarious! I selected this one to finish off the card.

My next project is this little felt snowman! The new EBE release features Sew Cute - Snowman dies. This would be perfect for even little kids to attempt, as the holes are a bit bigger than on other felt dies I've worked with. Speaking of kids, I meant to add a string to the top and turn this into an ornament, but a cute someone wanted to keep this little plushie for herself.



And then she asked if I would make one for all her classmates as Christmas gifts. I said no. haha.

Avery Elle comes to Stamptember!

Hi there!

Avery Elle is joining in the Stamptember fun with this exclusive set! Merry Wreath is only available in the Simon Says Stamp store, and only while supplies last. If you like it, jump on it!

For my set, I decided to make a homemade Christmas photo-card. This card comes together very quickly! I started out by stamping twiggy wreath image in the lightest brown ink onto my A2-sized card panel. This is just there to provide a guide for stamping out all the greenery. I used 2 different shades of green ink to add depth and interest to the wreath, and added a pop of red using the berry images. I then heat-embossed the twiggy wreath, right on top of where the guide was first stamped. I love the pop of white on top of all of that green!



I then cut an opening inside the wreath and fit a Christmas photo of my kids inside (gah! I miss them this little, I think this was from 3 years ago.) I added little red baubles for even more of a red berry pop! and shaded the edges of the card-front.

Big thanks! (Lawn Fawn + Hero Arts collab set)

Today is a very exciting day! Lawn Fawn and Hero Arts have joined forces to produce a super cute, exclusive new set, called Big Thanks.

Hero Arts is celebrating 45 years (wow!) and partnering up to celebrate what we love most about this industry - how it brings us together!



I did some ink blending in the background, and arranged my rhinos in front of the the glowing yellow sun. It's giving me Lion King vibes!

Merry Christmas (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Welcome to the final day of this month's Lawn Fawn inspiration week. I hope you've enjoyed it! Today is our showcase of Offset Sayings: Christmas.

I started out by cutting a layer of white cardstock with the Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait. I love that it leaves room for a nice big sentiment at the bottom. I created a layer of dark, night sky and set Santa and his reindeer (from Ho-Ho-Holidays) into each open square. I tethered the reindeer together, so that the image, though broken up by the frame, would look continuous.



I popped the frame up using foam adhesive tape, but stuck the images flat onto the night sky layer. I used a white gel pen to add highlights and other little accents. I always find this helps the images to really pop!



I stamped the sentiment once in black ink, and then filled in the top portion using Lobster ink. I added white gel-pen highlights to the letters as well.

Yeti or not (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's September inspiration week! Today, we're taking a closer look at Yeti Or Not. I used the cute yetis on my card yesterday but I'm so ready to share this snowboarding duo today:

I decided to make a wintery birthday card by bringing in the igloo from Snow Cool and the pile of snowballs from Toboggan Together.



I used blue paper from the Spiffy Speckles collection, and then heat-embossed snowflakes over-top.

get yeti! (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's September inspiration week! Today is our showcase of the Foursquare Backdrop dies as well as the Snow Day Remix papers.



I brought in the cuties from Yeti or Not, along with a few other winter stamps and made 4 tiny vignettes. The snowy patterned paper provided the perfect blue pop against all of the red accents.

In lieu of a stamped sentiment, I opted for the Happy Holidays Line Border. I love the extra pop of red that it gives!
