I have some great news to share: one of my Christmas cards (and boy was it ever weird to craft for Christmas in April...) was picked up for publication by Paper Crafts magazine! woot!
I'll keep this post short & sweet since I'm still not feeling too well. Here's a no-sentiment notecard I created for my group to make at our card class next week:
I sponged black ink onto a baking doily, used some very yummy patterned paper, then stamped a houndstooth background (hero arts) and a pretty cameo (paper smooches' "pretty momma") onto a tag die-cut.
The finishing touch? A little rosette made from book-print.
Happy weekend, all!
Elena,
ReplyDeleteThis card is gorgeous. The blak doily looks awesome. Love the rosette made from the book print.
I just had a major "duh" moment when I read that you inked your doily. Duh! I've thought of using the baking doilies but sometimes white just doesn't work. Why didn't I think of inking them another color. Sweet card!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your publication. So sorry you are under the weather. I hope you get a nice restful weekend, and breakfast in bed. Your card is very sweet, and I'm sure that the gals in your class will love it.
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! Is this your first publication? I feel like I read somewhere that you hadn't submitted before or something... Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your card - simple, but so pretty. The black doily is perfect!
Hi Elaine such a lovely card and a great idea dying the doily, thanks for the inspiration
