Hi there!
If you're looking for today's Lawn Fawn post, scroll down or click HERE.
I'm so excited to show off my new set with Neat and Tangled for this month, Barnyard Buddies. Before I do, though, I wanted to share some big changes coming to Neat and Tangled that have affected my role there. You can read the official announcement on the NT blog this morning (click.)
Danielle is reshaping how her company runs, and in doing so, there was no longer space enough for Miriam and I to continue on as product designers in the same capacity and with the same freedom of creativity as we were used to. It was a difficult decision, since I have loved working on this team, but I truly believe that a door closed is a window opened somewhere else.
I am so grateful to Danielle for bringing me on 3 years ago, and basically letting me design whatever I felt like drawing. I am so grateful for all of you Neat and Tangled fans who have been so supportive of my designs, and I am very excited to sit back with you and see what wonderful things are in store for Neat and Tangled!
I am still illustrating! I'm planning a few months break, just like Danielle, and hopefully you'll follow my journey and be there when I pop my head up with new designs!
Back to release week! Since it's my last week with Neat and Tangled, I decided to start things off with not 1 but 3 cards for you today:
I created a sunny sky background using our Radiating Star stencil, and layered the Barnyard Buddies on a little grassy hill.
That horse is my favorite one to color!
My next card brings in the barn, tractor and sun images from the set. I borrowed clouds from So Fly to give the sky some extra presence.
I used to think cows with brown spots would produce chocolate milk... mmmm....
My last card brings in an image from another new set - you'll meet him properly tomorrow. I did some ink blending and added a herd of farm animals to the simple design.
I hope you like what you see so far! Check out more of Barnyard Buddies on the NT blog this morning - click!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely darling! I Love the way you colored them... .are you going to be adding to your own shop on Etsy in the next coming months since you won't be designing for Neat and Tangled?

ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely gorgeous set of cards. I'm going to miss you in the shop so much. You have such an incredible gift! From my daughter's baby shower invites to the thank you cards for my mom's birthday, they chose your darling N+T stamps and we made the prettiest cards! You will be so missed but I love your positivity - close a window, open a door :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'm so touched that my illustrations were made a part of such important family events - that warms my heart!
DeleteDear Elena,
ReplyDeleteI cannot describe how sad I was yesterday when I read this announcement! For me you were heart and soul of Neat & Tangled, nearly all my stamps from this company are designed by you! I was willing to wait months over months to get your stamps (ordering internationally) and dies and really am heart-broken now. I wish you so much luck for your future and that you can refresh your energy resources in the following months. Hopefully it will fill up your creative fluids ;) I really love your stampies and hope that there will be a chance that this success story isn’t over yet.
Greetings from Austria
Franziska
you're so sweet, Franziska! I am in the middle of illustrating fall and christmas sets for a new company, so don't be too sad for me! thank you so much for your kind words, it means so much to me.
DeleteI too am sad to hear you will no longer be designing for Neat & Tangled! Your sets are always my favorites. This new one is no exception; it's super cute!! And your cards are all adorable! Wouldn't it be funny if the brown (or even brown spotted) cows produced chocolate milk?! Makes sense to me!
ReplyDeletethanks Heather!
DeleteYour cards are so adorable! This looks like such a fun stamp set. :) Wishing you all the best in your future ventures!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute set and perfect cards to show it off! Can't wait to see what you do next, wherever it'll be!
ReplyDeleteLove these cute cards!
