my card.
you didn't expect me to be a cardmaker and a comedienne too, did you? Hee hee. I'm entering this card into the Play Date Cafe Challenge. Yesterday, I shared a last minute card I needed for Sofia's English teacher. This one is "sliding in" for her French teacher. Oh! pulled that one right outta my hat. Did ya get it? Sigh. You may have to see the card first.... scroll on down!
Oh, and also, this card was created for my latest papertrey princess challenge: snowflakes.
I grabbed my white mat and cut 2 mat stack 4 shapes to make this huge opening. I then embossed it with my SU stripes folder. The snow drifts were embossed with SU's polka dot foder, and then given a light coat along the top edges with a glittery glue (SU diamond details). The card-base, PTI's guidelines grid cardstock, was stamped with my "splash of teal" (it's more turquoise, I know, but the point is there are snowflakes.) They come from PTI's "in the meadow" set. The matching dies provided my boy-on-sled silhouette.
I used lawn fawn's "sally's abcs" for the sentiment. The entire stripe-embossed mat was mounted onto the card-base with foam squares.
And so was the sledder.
Thanks for looking!
I LOVE it! We might have to do an exchange cookie for cards... I gave some ppl the thank you cards yesterday they were so impressed! You are so talented!

ReplyDeleteNeedless to say, I'm smitten by your cards. But I'm even more impressed with your photography! No one takes better photos of their cards than you do. I'll never make a card. But I'll keep coming back to drool ...
Yeah! Best cards and best photos. Add your witty little blog entries, and you're a triple threat. :D Love this card...Fave part: the textured paper for the snowy ground. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is darling, Elena! I love all the texture you created with the white on white! (Oh, and I love your jokes, too!)
ReplyDeletesaved the best for last!
ReplyDeleteOh! How lovely! I love all the white--it shows off the gorgeous texture!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card. Love how you made the frame with 2 mat stack #4 shapes. I'll have to try that.
ReplyDeleteLove all your cards.
This is so sweet. It's simple, yet striking. What a great idea to cut two mat stack #4's. Also, you reminded me that I have that striped embossing folder from SU, and have forgotten to use it even once! The teacher will LOVE this card.
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! Love that you chose to make the snowflakes teal!
ReplyDeleteWonderful use of texture and layering! I love how you created a little shadow box look. Thank you so much for playing along at The Play Date Cafe.
ReplyDeleteGREAT use of our challenge colors this week! It's very unique. I like the 'noel' up in the corner; perfect, of course, for the French teacher. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing with us at The Play Date Cafe, and Merry Christmas!
