sewing party sneaky peek....

First of all, thank you to all those who prayed for baby Olivia yesterday.  It is so appreciated...



I spent the day yesterday painting a canvas for Thomas' monster party (and it's still not done...)  But since that party is scheduled for next Saturday, I should probably go bake a chocolate cake right now and cover it in mounds of pink icing :)

Sofia's sewing party is tomorrow!  I will have a gaggle of girls (8 of them makes up a gaggle, right?) yelling about how the needle just poked them... ha!  I hope they'll have fun!

I will share the whole party next week, but just to tide you over (because I know you are biting your nails in anticipation), here's a little peek at one of the banners I created:

I love the whole kraft, pink, and blue color scheme - isn't it so flirty?  The banner panels are made up of button cards (from PTI's "button boutique") and I added bow accents (from "bells and boughs") and buttons... lots of buttons.

CAS-ual friday - the black & white of it.

In honor of penguin awareness day (who knew there was such a thing!), the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is to create a black & white card.  Oh, the restraint I've had to show.

I started out with a sheet of PTI's guidelines grid cardstock, and stamped the frame from "button boutique" where I wanted it.  I then stamped it again on some post-it paper, cut it out and put it down over-top.  While my framed area was "protected," I stamped a pattern-pieces background (SU) all around.  Thank you, stamp-a-ma-jig.  I've almost forgotten what's it like to use red rubber :)

When I removed the mask (always a ta-da moment!) I then stamped the sentiment (from "button boutique") and threaded a juicy black button with some black and white twine for some extra fun.

a pocketful for you.

My sis came over yesterday, and we put my mini-rolled rosette die to good use.  She's so excited to have a baby girl she can doll up, and I needed to make a present for a little girl I'll be seeing soon...

I'm loving the blue and peach combo - I hope she does too!  I made her 3 clips - one with a blue rosette, one with a peach rosette, and one with 2 tiny little buds (one in each color).

With the clips made, I had to find a way to package them!

I'm entering this into the MIM challenge: creating a pocket with edger dies.  I used my mat stack 4 to cut a decorative top on my little vellum pocket.  I love how they look like a little bouquet of flowers, peeking out of the top!
