big floral thanks (with Ellen Hutson)

Hi there!

I have a few days with nothing to post, so I think I will go back and share projects that I made at the beginning of the month that were never blogged yet.

Let's start with this big beautiful floral number, from the Mondo Gerbera Daisy stamp set:

big floral thanks (Ellen Hutson)

I can't even tell you how much I adore the entire "mondo" flower line of stamps that Ellen Hutson has in their store. I hope they make more of them. (You hear me, Julie? you genius, you!)

And this daisy image is so perfect for a quick and easy card. I am the world's slowest colorer (it's been documented) but this card came together in under 30 minutes. Because I only really had to color the stems and the middle of the flowers, I got the drama from the large floral without the coloring-time-commitment. In case you'd like to know, I used copic markers - Y02, Y11, and Y17 for the yellow centers.

I started with a card base, onto which I did a little ink blending with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink.  Before the ink could dry, I flecked water droplets onto the entire think, for that dreamy bokeh effect.

Next, I layered on the flowers, and stamped the greeting in the lower right hand corner to finish things off.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome, sweet pea! (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's February inspiration week! We're showing off products from the spring collection - all of which will be available for purchase tomorrow! Are you excited??

Today, we're showing of Be Hap-pea, a cute set featuring pea pods and different faces for the little peas! I made a baby card for a friend using this set:

I did some ink blending using Spun Sugar distress oxide ink. I started blending in the middle, and feathered it out to give it a dreamy quality.

I stamped the sentiment into a Bannertastic flag, and added some of the green leaves around the banner so that it all tied together better.

I added some darker pink grounding beneath the feet of the 2 pea "parents" and nestled the "big sister" into the pod with her newborn baby sister.

To add extra interest, I used a white gel pen to add white dots for that bokeh look.

I used images from Butterfly Kisses and Eggstra Amazing Easter to create my scene.

I love how all of the new patterned papers look together!

I cut a tiny slit between the fox's paws so that he could properly hold his easter egg. I love his pose - it really looks like he's racing to fill that basket!

Spring fling (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's February inspiration week, where we take a closer look at some of the their spring collection. The entire spring line will be available in stores in just a few days - February 21st.

Today, we're showing off the beautiful Spring Fling papers. It features soft florals and subtle patterns and I've used both on my card today:

I kept it very simple so that the papers could really stand out! I used the bunny from Eggstra Amazing Easter, the sign from Open Me, and the egg border from Simply Celebrate Spring.

Eggstra chocolate (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's February inspiration week! Their entire spring collection will hit the stores on February 21st! In the meantime, the design team is showing off some of the new product. Today, we're taking a closer look at Eggstra Amazing Easter:

The critters are working on filling that Easter basket! My parents used to do that for us, those huge baskets were waiting on the kitchen table on Easter morning, and it was the best day of the year!

I love the Spring Fling floral paper that I used on the card base - it softens and sweetens the card so much more!

If you'd like to see more of how I made this card, Kelly recreates it in her video this morning. Check it out on the blog today - click!

Butterfly kisses (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's February inspiration week! Their entire spring collection will be available for purchase as of February 21st, and in the meantime, we are taking a closer look at some of the new products.

Today, we're showing off my favorite set of the entire new collection, Butterfly Kisses. I love the little critters in this set!

I created a storybook-type scene, and used nesting oval dies to frame it all out. The butterflies are flitting about, and the little fox is chasing them while his friends look on.

I love all of the white space - it still looks clean and simple, but the scene is detailed enough to be interesting.

Magic picture changer (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome back to this month's Lawn Fawn inspiration week! Today, we're showing off a brand new die called the Magic Picture Changer. It is so cool! With this set of dies, you can create a picture that "magically" changes when you pull the tab.

For my card, I used the bear from Butterfly Kisses, and a few little chicks from Eggstra Amazing Easter to create a serene spring scene.

The sentiment is the only thing that sticks out... but when you pull the tab, it all makes sense:

ha! I think I'm pretty funny for coming up with this one! With a pull of the tab, the bear is a comedian, wearing the joke glasses from Dad + Me.
