A slice of pumpkin pie (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

The fall/winter collection hit the stores yesterday, but as a special treat, the design team is serving up slices of pie today! We're showing off the new Cake Slice Box Pie Add-On:

I used the yellow paper from the Spiffy Speckles patterned paper pad, sponging orange ink over-top. I love the dimension and texture that you get from the little speckles!

I added whipped cream to the top, and a kraft-colored pie-crust. I finished off with a sweet sentiment banner.

Christmas Kids (Avery Elle new release blog hop!)

Hi there!

I am so thrilled to be part of the Avery Elle new release blog hop - and even more elated to reveal that I will now be joining their team of illustrators! I have 4 stamp sets included in this release, and I hope you love them all!

For today, I am showing off Christmas Kids:

Christmas Kids (Avery Elle new release blog hop)

I designed this set to be a stamp-one-and-done kind of Christmas set. I love this kind of large-scale image, especially because I can stamp and die-cut a bunch of them in advance, color them at my leisure and then have my holiday cards come together in a snap.

Christmas Kids (Avery Elle new release blog hop)

For this card, I did some very subtle ink-blending on the card base, and then popped the main image up using foam tape. I colored everything with copic markers. I had so much fun giving the kids different skin tones and hair colors! The little Santa image on the boy's sweater is my fave.

I did a bit of doodling on the girl's mug to make it look like Santa's face, and added polka dots and stripes to clothing with a white gel pen. I also used my gel pen to add little snowflake doodles to the background. I would have used the stamp image for that, but I thought of it too late ::facepalm::

My second card is a bit of a stepped-up card design. I backed the kids with a starry night patterned paper, added a snow-bank and a white frame die (the Dotted Frame by Avery Elle,) and added a pop of red as the base layer.

I also took the extra step of re-drawing the black lines around the snow-pile images, so that the snow would look seamless on top of the tree.

bats and turkeys (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's August inspiration week! We're showing off items from the fall/winter collection leading up to the August 22nd release week (and woot! that's tomorrow!)

Today, we're showing off a new Woodland Critter Hugger - a Bat Add-on! and another add-on, the Tiny Gift Box Peacock and Turkey Add-On.

Critter boxes (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

I couldn't help but start out by making the turkey. he's so cute! I used an off-white cream cardstock for his face, and a kraft for his body. I used markers to draw stripes on the tail-feathers, to break up all of that kraft cardstock.

The little pilgrim hat is so fun!

I also made a little gift bag using the Goodie Bag die and the new bat dies.

Critter boxes (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

In real life he's much cuter - in the photo the gray of his body looks so washed out you can hardly see his white fangs! But trust me, he's cute. I added a little scarf (from the Woodland Critter Huggers Winter Add-On) and some black crinkle paper to break up all of that grey. The finishing touch was a little piece of purple candy for him to hold.

I hope you like them! Check out what the rest of the design team cooked up on the Lawn Fawn blog today - click!

Tree Before 'n Afters

Hi there!

Welcome to another day of Lawn Fawn's August inspiration week. We're showing off items from the fall/winter collection ahead of the August 22nd release date.

Today is our showcase of Tree Before 'n Afters - it's a set that features trees for all seasons, and so many cute smiley faces!

Trees Before 'n Afters (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

I just love apple orchards. I colored the trees, and so many apples, and set them on grassy rolling hills. And I obviously added a smiley face to each tree.

To add dimension, I sponged some light brown ink onto the grassy hills and used a brown pen to add little dot accents.

I hope you like it! Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog this morning for even more inspiration - click!

Pumpkins (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to another day of Lawn Fawn's August inspiration week. We're showing off items from the fall/winter collection before it all becomes available for sale on August 22nd.

Today, we're showing off the Outside In Stitched Pumpkin dies. I made a card and gift bag set using the new dies:

I used the yellow (ripe banana) paper from the Spiffy Speckles pad, sponging orange ink over-top. I liked that the end result was a very soft orange, with all of that texture from the patterned paper.

Build-A-House (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to Lawn Fawn's August inspiration week! At the end of the inspiration week, the fall/winter collection will (finally!) be available for purchase - on August 22nd.

Today is our showcase of Build-A-House, Reveal Wheel Build-A-House Add On, Build-A-House Halloween Add-On, and Tiny Halloween.

I, weirdly enough, used everything but the Build-A-House Halloween Add-On to create this spooktacular card:

I would like to take a minute to celebrate that this is the first Reveal Wheel card that I was able to make without consulting a how-to You Tube video. haha. I think I finally got the hang of it!
Build-A-House (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)
I love the "turn here to spook" sentiment included in Tiny Halloween, as well as the tiny images that you can add to the open window!

Fortune Telling Tabby (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome to another day of Lawn Fawn's August inspiration week! All of the new products from the fall/winter collection will be available at the end of inspiration week, on August 22nd.

Today is our showcase of Fortune Teller Tabby:

Fortune Telling Tabby (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

I love that it pairs with the new circle Reveal Wheel shape! The extra kitties coming to get their fortunes read are from Say What? Pets and Keep On Swimming.

Fortune Telling Tabby (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

What do you think? Super cute, huh? I did some ink-blending using Lawn Fawn's Hippo ink, and added both white and black paint splatters on top of that before adding the images.

Flippin' Awesome (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

Welcome back to day 2 of this month's Lawn Fawn inspiration week - everything will be available for purchase at the end of the week, on August 22nd!

Today, we're showing off a new interactive die, called Flippin' Awesome.

Flippin' Awesome (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

It's so much fun! I created 4 square scenes, using images from Spooky Village. When you pull on the tab, the tiles cascade one after the other.

Flippin' Awesome (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

I stamped out BOO at the end, because it was too sad to leave it blank, but I also am not in the habit of giving out gift-cards for Halloween. For Christmas, though... I plan on adding one there.

Flippin' Awesome (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

I added the new Happy Halloween Line Border in lieu of a stamped sentiment. I also added little die-cut ghosts and other spooky things - they are part of the new Build A House Halloween Add-On.

I hope you like it! There's more to see on the LF blog this morning - click!

Spooky Village (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

Hi there!

It's time for Lawn Fawn's August inspiration week! At the end of the week everything will (finally) be available for purchase - you've been so patient! August 22nd will be here before you know it.

Today, the design team is showing off cards made with Spooky Village:

Spooky Village (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

This set is so cute! I just love all of the tinier elements - the little pumpkin patch, the graves, and of course, the teeny trick or treaters! I just find the candy-corn costume so hilarious.

Spooky Village (Lawn Fawn inspiration week)

The graphic, black sky and the kraft colored hills allow all of the colored houses to really stand out.

Holiday Characters (new EBE release!)

Hi there!

There's a new Essentials by Ellen release and we're celebrating with a fun blog hop! There is a lot of eye-candy along every stop of the hop, and there are prizes to be won too!

Holiday Characters (EBE new release!)

I used the new (and super adorable) Holiday Characters stamp set to create this card. It was designed by Julie Ebersole and so perfect for fun holiday cards and tags.

Holiday Characters (EBE new release!)

I started out by stamping and die-cutting all of the images. I then colored them in using copic markers. It was hard to tell in that first photo, but after I arranged all of the images, I created a shaker in front of them all. I didn't add too much of the chunky glitter but just enough so that when you shake it, it adds a sparkly dust to the background. Christmas magic!

Holiday Characters (EBE new release!)

I hid all of the foam tape around the edges with a white rectangle frame die (from Lawn Fawn) and then heat-embossed a sentiment (from the Mondo Holly stamp set) on a strip of black cardstock. I love a super-simple/unfussy sentiment when the rest of the card already has so much going already.

I hope you like it! Now, onto the fun stuff - PRIZES.

We've got super fun prizes!!! One random & lucky commenter will win $25 to the EH shop and one will win the whole July Essentials by Ellen release!!! To enter for a chance to win, make sure to leave comments at each stop along the hop! Comment before Thursday, August 15th at 11:59pm PST. Winners will be notified by email.

Here is a full list of blog hop participants for today - enjoy!
